Currently, the ECO4 has upgraded over 243,900 homes, saving households hundreds of pounds annually. The upcoming ECO5 scheme, hopefully launching in 2026, prioritizes renewable energy by offering air-to-water heat pumps and free solar panels with radiators. It expands eligibility to include non-benefit households struggling with heating costs, ensuring broader access to energy-saving solutions while advancing the UK’s sustainable energy goals.
Under the ECO4 scheme, more than 100,000 boiler replacements were made. 33,400 heat pumps installed with solar panels supporting the use of renewable energy sources in British homes. Moreover, around 156,000 loft, cavity wall and external/internal wall insulation upgrade ensured energy efficiency, therefore significantly reducing heat loss from houses to support a greener and more sustainable future.
